ABOUT ME
actor – playwright
My name is Stephen Bush, and I am an actor-playwright eager to emerge from a quarantine spent amidst the beautiful oilfields of Bakersfield, CA. I have had the opportunity to work with many talented peers on department and student-produced theater, including in the 2019 L.A. tour of La VÃctima, a co-production with The Latino Theater Company. I am interested in stretching the notion of negative empathy as far as the form will allow. I have often played characters who are malicious, madcap, or both. Some of my favorite roles include Leon Czolgoz in Assassins and Claudius in a Zoom production of Hamlet. I am a graduate of Bakersfield College and UCLA's theater program. I will be pursuing an MFA in playwriting at Columbia this fall.
